The article recounts her story in her own words. Kim received her liver transplant on May 7, 2000 and has become an active donation advocate in the transplant community. She was recently appointed to the OPTN/UNOS Patient Affairs Committee. She also serves as an Iowa Donor Network volunteer and participates in the U.S. Transplant Games.
